Junior Achievement City, a 10,000 square foot learning facility for youth located in downtown Salt Lake City is typically in need of 20-25 volunteers daily to keep its hands-on environment running. JA City provides local 5th grade students the opportunity to “work” in a business for a day. It also provides 8th grade students with personal financing skills.

When FCS CEO Michael Johnson attended JA City as a volunteer for his daughter’s 5th grade class, he saw first-hand what an amazing experience JA City’s replicated model business environment provides for students. He also learned that JA City struggles to provide enough volunteers to keep operations running smoothly.

As a result, FCS employees will be volunteering at JA City during the months of January, February, March, April and May of 2011 – and possibly beyond their promised volunteer months.
